An Expression of Interest (EOI) process to manage and use part or all of the former Kyneton Primary School site opened today.

Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) Loddon Mallee Regional Director Marg Allan said the EOI process aims to attract realistic proposals from interested parties to manage and attract varied uses for the premises that benefit the community.

“A community consultation process in 2018 found a strong preference for the premises to become a hub for the community,” Ms Allan said.

“EOIs are sought from organisations, groups or individuals with the skills, experience and vision to create a vibrant, sustainable place in the heart of Kyneton.

“This is an important step in ascertaining what interest there is in managing the site, to help determine the best future use.”

An Expression of Interest pack is available at www.delwp.vic.gov.au/formerkynetonpseoi.  Individuals, groups or organisations who would like more information can contact DELWP on 136 186.  EOIs close on Friday 1 May at 2pm.

The 1.2 hectare site, located at 7-15 Baynton Street, includes heritage and non-heritage buildings and a large outdoor green space that adjoins the town square.

The site is managed by the Victorian School Building Authority.  DELWP is managing the EOI process on behalf of the Victorian Government.
